There are multiple origins and translations for the hugely popular name Adam:
1. Hebrew (אָדָם) which actually means - "man, person, human" or derived from the (אֲדָמָה) [adama] - "land, earth, soil, ground" (referring either to the color of earth or of human skin).
2. Turkic name-giving, and interpretation is - "man, real man".
3. Arabic name (آآدم) translation - "dark, swarthy, brown".
Adam - according to the Book of Genesis and the Qur'an, the first man created by God and noted in subsequent Jewish, Christian and Islamic commentary. His second wife was Eve and first was Lilit.
