Yakov (Yasha) - is a russian variant of James, isn't it?

Why didn't anyone comment on what seems the most common name in English speaking world?
Many now use short forms: Jim, Jimmy, Jamie and so on.
But i love James best! And i also adore irish varient - Seamus, as well.
