Vishnu is the Supreme Lord in the Vaishnavite tradition of Hinduism. In Hinduism, Vishnu - one of the most major and most revered of the gods; together with Shiva and Brahma. Smarta followers of Adi Shankara, among others, venerate Vishnu as one of the five primary forms of God. In the Puranas, Vishnu is described as having the divine color of water filled clouds, four-armed, holding a lotus, mace, conch (shankha) and chakra (wheel). The most important avatar of Vishnu is the God Krishna, the hero Rama and Varaha the boar god. Visnu saved the world from the demon Bali. Vishnu is usually depicted as a blue skin color handsome young man with the four arms. His attributes - mace, conch, wheel (chakra) and lotus. His wife is Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and good fortune.
