Ares in Greek mythology - God of war. He is one of the Twelve Olympians, and the son of Zeus and Hera. He was treacherous, cunning and cruel warrior who loves war. In ancient literature we can find mentions that Ares married to with the most beautiful of the goddesses - Aphrodite, sometimes referred to as children who were born from this marriage: Cupid (or Eros), Anteros (hate), Harmony, Phobos (fear), Deimos (terror). In Roman mythology Greek Ares corresponds to Roman Mars.
