Greek name (Κρόνος), derived from χρόνος [khronos] - "year, time".

Cronos ia s titan in Greek mythology who were born from the marriage of the sky God Uranus and the earth goddess Gaia. He overthrew his father and ruled during the mythological Golden Age, until he was overthrown by his own son Zeus and imprisoned in Tartarus.
