In Greek mythology Athena is the goddess of wisdom, peace, warfare, strategy, handicrafts and reason, shrewd companion of heroes and the goddess of heroic endeavour, the daughter of Zeus. She is the virgin patron of Athens, which built the Parthenon to worship her.
