Sanskrit (वरुण) means - "aquatic, marine, oceanic; given by God of water".
Varuna in ancient Indian mythology is a God of the water and the ocean, the punishing god-judge, the God of the sky. Along with Indra he is a greatest of gods of the Vedic pantheon. He had a wonderful, magical, power and watched over people, protecting them against the evil inclination, and speak out against injustice, sickness, death, witchcraft and even gave a long life.
