Name Fatimah

Arabic name (فاطمة) means - "adult, grown; one who weans an infant; one who abstains."

Fatimah/Fatima was a daughter of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad (another daughters: Zaynab, Ruqayyah, Umm Kulthum). She was the favorite daughter of the Prophet who was his only child to bear children. Muhammad had other sons and daughters, but they either died young or failed to produce a long line of descendants. Fatima however, stood at the head of a genealogy that steadily enlarged through the generations. Islam says that the prophet mentioned Fatimah among the others four greatest women in the history of Islam, along with Maryam (the mother of the Prophet Isa), Muhammad's first wife Khadija and Asiya. Fatimah is commonly given as a female name among Muslims.

Fatimah - was a daughter of Prophet and Khadija, wife of Ali and mother of Hassan and Hussein, and one of the five members of Ahl al- Bayt. She became the object of great veneration by all Muslims, because she lived closest to her father and supported him in his difficulties, because of the historical importance of her husband and her two sons, and because she is the only member of Prophet's family that gave him descendants, numerously spread through the Islamic world
