Hebrew (Jewish כַּרמֶל [Karmel]) name which actually means - "God`s (El) orchards and vineyards; unripe grains".
Named in honor of the title of the Virgin Mary Our Lady of Carmel. There is a mountain in Israel mentioned in the Old Testament. It was the site of several early Christian monasteries.
